Sunny Takes Her Place as the ‘Brain Idol’ on ‘Invincible Youth 2′

During the latest recording of “Invincible Youth 2″, the idols of G8 took a basic education exam which tested their abilities to solve problems from the first grade level to the sixth grade level. Though the idols were taken aback by the difficulty of some of the questions, Sunny surprised everyone by easily answering all of the questions on the test, including the most difficult fraction calculations.

The other members were unable to answer several questions, giving Sunny the highest score and her place as the “Brain Idol”.

Sunny has already won several titles on “Invincible Youth 2″ and has become known as “National Soonkyu” and the “Invincible President“.

This episode of “Invincible Youth 2″ will be aired this Saturday, March 3rd.

On February 29th, J.Estina has announced that a fan signing event with Girls’ Generation will be held on March 11th at the AK Departmental Store in Suwon.

Customers who have made purchases of more than 100,000 won from February 23rd to March 5th stand a chance to attend the fan signing event. The announcement of the lucky winners will be made online on March 9th.

After appointing Girls’ Generation as their advertisement models, J.Estina had since named its products after the girls – ‘Jessica’s earrings’, ‘YoonA’s Angelica Bag’, ‘Tiffany’s earrings’, etc and the brand enjoyed a consistent upward trend in sales. Yuri speaks on the challenges as an actress

Photos of Yuri reading the script of ‘Fashion King’ with a look of concentration, as though she has fallen in love with it, were revealed recently.

In the photos taken at the set of the location shooting in New York, Yuri who took up the acting challenge for the first time was seen holding the script with a serious expression on her face. She seemed to be fully immersed in it as she was studying and reading through the script.

Yuri said, “A singer channels all his/her energy to make an impact for a short period of time but for acting, since one has to take a long breath and live as the character being played to produce an impact, I think it’s more difficult.” She added, “I’m having so much fun taking up this new and recent challenge.”

‘Fashion King’ is SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama and it will begin airing on March 19th.

Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun: “At first, we were going to decline performing on the David Letterman Show”

Seohyun shared a never-before revealed story regarding Girls’ Generation‘s performance on the David Letterman Show.

On the February 28th episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart‘, Seohyun remarked, “We were aware of how huge this show was in America, enough for member Tiffany who grew up in the States to cry after we received the invitation to perform. But in the beginning, we had discussions of not going through with it.”

“It’s a tremendous show, but we didn’t think we would be able to put on our best performance, so we were going to decline,” she said. “Because the Letterman Show is a talk show, the stage is extremely small. Not all of us could fit and we didn’t think we could properly perform.”

The second reason Girls’ Generation wanted to decline was because of the music. The version of “The Boys” that Americans are accustomed to is not the original Girls’ Generation version, but the club remix version with a feature by rapper Snoop Dogg.

“After discussions with the staff members, we decided to go through with the show after they enlarged the stage for us a little bit, and we prepared really hard,” Seohyun continued.

‘Strong Heart’ then played the clip of the girls’ performance, and the studio sent a warm round of applause to the Girls’ Generation members.

Seohyun revealed a behind story about Girls’ Generation’s appearance on a French talk show.

During the recent recording of SBS ‘Strong Heart’, Seohyun said, “Girls’ Generation was the first Korean artist to have appeared on France’s popular program ‘Le Grand Journal’. Beyonce, Usher, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and other Hollywood stars had also attended this program in the past and it was a great honor to have gone on the program.”

She added, “The thought of being in France as the representative of Korea was not the only joy as we were surprised and amazed to hear the audience cheering and chanting in Korean.”

Girls’ Generation and Won Bin come together for ‘real’

In order to attract more attention from the public, LG Electronics has brought together their recently appointed models, Girls’ Generation and their original model, Won Bin, for their new Cinema 3D Smart TV CF.

In the recent CF, it showed Girls’ Generation member Jessica releasing a dove and Won Bin who is watching from his LG Cinema 3D Smart TV trying to catch the dove as it came out to him from the screen. With these effects, LG has portrayed how ‘real’ TV has become.

The product CF will be released as four different CFs. One that has already been released was with Jessica and Won Bin; others will show Yoona, Yuri, Tiffany, and one with all the members.

A representative from LG Electronics commented, “By using the number 1 image of the group Girls’ Generation, who is leading the Hallyu Wave, and popular actor Won Bin, we wanted to upgrade our image to show that our product ‘LG Cinema 3D Smart TV’ could also be the number 1 of smart electronics.” He continued saying, “With the image and status of the models, we can create a synergy effect along with our brand. The Final Episode of ‘Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys’ to Be Broadcast Next Week

The first part of the last episode of jTBC’s “Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys” will be broadcast on February 26th. While the final eps will be broadcast next week March.04

Girls’ Generation, who were the boys’ mentors, faced several difficulties throughout the show but did not falter. Even though one of the boys left halfway through the show, the members of Girls’ Generation continued to give warm advice and cold warnings to the boys even when they were not recording for the show.

With the help of Girls’ Generation’s earnest hearts, the boys improved tremendously and not only impressed the girls, but the staff as well.

With the first recording session happening way back on November 20th of last year, Girls’ Generation could not hide their sadness upon saying their goodbyes. Sunny, in particular, mentioned that Kim Huihoon even appeared in her dreams, while Seohyun, who received the nickname “Enraged Seohyun”, showed tears during the last interview session and said, “I think I did poorly with the kids but I have also learned a lot through this program.”

Even the boys looked like they couldn’t believe that they were actually saying goodbye to each other, and one of them even shed tears after filming ended.

Girl’s Generation’s Yuri, who has turned to acting this year, was spotted enjoying a game of table tennis while filming on location in New York.

To start filming for the new SBS drama ‘Fashion King’, Yuri flew over to New York last week and has been dealing with busy daily schedules ever since she arrived. However, on February 22th where filming took place in a Manhattan studio, Yuri took her free time during which she had no scenes to film, to enjoy a few rounds of table tennis with the staff while still wearing her character’s clothes.

‘Fashion King’ will be the first time where Yuri will be showing off her acting skills in a major drama. Yuri will play the character of Anna, who overcomes the many obstacles of discrimination and with her own strength, later becomes a senior fashion designer working for a world-famous designer.

The other cast members includes Yoo Ah In, Shin Se Kyung, Lee Jae Hun, Jang Mi Hee and Han Yu E. ‘Fashion King’ was created with fashion as its theme, along with the challenges and success of young people and their love and desire. This drama was put together by the writers of ‘What Happened in Bali’, ‘One Thousand Year Old Penny’ and ‘Stars in my Heart’, Lee Sun Mi and Kim Ki Ho, and the director of ‘Bad Couple’ and ‘Ja Myeong Go’, Lee Myung Woo.

‘Fashion King’ will be the follow-up drama after the hit drama ‘Salary Man Cho Han Ji’, and will air its first episode on March 19th.

Girls’ Generation member Sunny has transformed into ‘Brenda‘ for her newest musical!

Images of Sunny as ‘Brenda’ for ‘Catch Me If You Can‘ have been unveiled, and the singer who properly conveys the character of a woman helplessly in love displays all of her lovely, innocent, and cute charms at her photo shoot.

Choi Woori and Dana who will also play leads in the musical have completed photo shoots with the same ‘untarnished love’ concept, displaying their beautiful, fresh, youthful charms, further raising expectations for the musical.

The staff members on set were reportedly mesmerized with the girls with each take, and did not seem to mind that the shoot went longer than expected.

‘Catch Me If You Can’ was originally a movie about the life of infamous con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. Directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks played main leads in the film. The movie was then turned into a hit musical on Broadway and nominated for 4 Tony Awards, and is now about to make it’s break through in Korea.

‘Catch Me If You Can’ opens at the Blue Square Samsung Card Hall on March 28th.
